# Creating A Survey

## Creating a Survey <a href="#creating_a_survey" id="creating_a_survey"></a>

Users have two options when creating a survey. They can build their own customer survey or use one of the available templates.

### **Creating Custom Surveys**

To begin, navigate to the “Survey Manager” page and click the “Create New Survey” button. This opens a dialog box that presents users with several options. Here users must enter a survey name, select a default language, and decide whether to enable speech recognition.

After entering the requisite information, Insight redirects users to their newly created survey.

### **New From Template**

To begin, navigate to the “Survey Manager” page and click the “New From Template” button. This opens a dialog box that presents users with several options. Here users must enter a survey name, select a template from the drop-down menu, and decide whether to include audio prompts.

After entering the information, the user will be redirected to their newly created survey based on the selected template. At this point users can change the template, or add or remove elements to best fit their needs.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.plumvoice.com/insight/creating-a-survey.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
